The Tax exoneration, which is applicable to the tax incentives and benefits pertaining to properties and real estate in Panama, has been rumored to be extended. These tax incentives, which have been reported on in a number of publications and by a variety of sources, can only become law once published in the Gazette. The latest mention of tax incentives in the last published Gazette, of 15th April 2008, allows one to get their building permit by the 1st of July 2009, and until the end of 2011 to obtain an occupancy permit. Hence to take advantage of any tax incentives, pending any potential, one has 6 months to utilize the benefits of the 20 year tax exoneration.
