Panama’s pineapple products and market continue to enjoy increased popularity and demand from the international markets. Pineapples accounted for 35% of domestic fruits sold abroad, from a total worth $120 million. The pineapple demand fluctuates quite regularly, with the highest demand being experienced over the Easter and Christmas periods. Most pineapples are grown within the La Chorrera area, with additional plantations planned for Chiriqui, Veraguas and Los Santos Provinces.
