The doomsayers are always predicting the worst and waiting for the worst to happen, lets look at the facts about Panama’s tourism that have been highlighted in the media lately. The period of Januray through September have seen 1,1 million tourists coming to Panama, which represents an over 13% increase on the same period last year, according to the Panama Tourism Authority. This coupled with the agreements signed by Panama and the Florida Caribbean Cruise Association, which effectively hosts 20 different cruise lines, enabling 40 cruise ships to visit Panama as a destination. These cruise lines include Cunard, Celebrity, Carnival, P&O and Royal Caribbean.

The global recession seems to have little effect on the attraction of tourists to the beautiful destinations on offer in Panama, and the consistent service and value for money experienced by the tourists will ensure an ongoing sustainable tourist destination and business for Panama.
