According to the Lloyd’s Register statistics, and the Panama Maritime Administration, the Ship Register’s fleet grew by 7,28% to October of this year. A total of 8159 vessels fly the Panamanian flag, the main users thereof include Japan, Greece, Korea, China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Panama’s fleet remains the largest due to ongoing and updating Merchant Marine procedures, reinforcement of safety measures and implementation of international conventions, according to Fernando Solorzano from the Panama Maritime Administration.
