Panama Becomes Home to Largest Aquaculture Farm in the World.
One of the largest operators of open sea aquaculture interests, Open Blue Sea Farms, has announced the planned acquisition of Pristine Oceans major assets, from which after consolidation together with Open Blue Sea Farms assets will form the largest open sea aquaculture concern. The planned acquisition and consolidation is set to be completed within the year.
The primary fish that is being farmed is that of the Coiba, due to its rapid growth rate, as well as its popularity in the gourmet sea food market, due to the high nutrition value, as well as its unique taste and texture, that is a favorite amongst local chefs and food aficionados. The current stock of 43,000 will be depleted by almost 25%, due to 10,000 of the stock being ready for the market between the coming months of December and April. In order to ensure sustainable growth of the open sea aquaculture program, an investment of $7 million is being sought to fund expansion and growth.

Open Blue Sea farms also provides to distributors and restaurants in the United States, and beyond.
