Former Bank Superintendent defends Panama
Thursday, March 26, 2009 16:28
The former Bank Superintendent, Delia Cardenas, has defended Panama amid tax haven claims, stating that Panama is not a tax haven due to the fact that all people and companies pay taxes in Panama. Cardenas further condemned big countries, as well as the Economic Development and Cooperation Organization for creating the current crisis due to its inability of effective supervision of the various banking systems across the world.
Cadenas also confirmed that Panama has always been frowned upon as a tax haven, however the fact that the judicial system is transparent in Panama allows the fact that Panama, and her people, have no reason to fear the accusations of outside countries and parties.
