Bocas a short flight from Panama City

Air Panama has recently introduced a new Saab 340 two-engine turboprop aircraft between Panama City and Bocas. The flight takes approximately 30 minutes and is offered three times per day, due to the increased demand of the flight to the Caribbean destination.

The Swedish passenger plane is the same as used by major airlines, such as British Airways, American Airlines, Continental and Air France, for their commuter air routes. The airplane carries 34 passengers and has advanced technological features which reduce noise and vibration at cruising altitudes.

In addition to the use of this new plane, the airstrip in Bocas Del Toro is upgrading their facilities with lights to enable night landings and therefore the possibility of additional flights in and out of Bocas Del Toro, the tourism hot spot. Air Panama and Costa Rica’s Nature Air are in negotiations to facilitate flights from and to Costa Rica’s Guanacaste province to Bocas Del Toro.
