Besides attracting a large amount of investment from expats wishing to retire in Panama, the government and economy further provide a number of attractive benefits and savings for the senior in Panama. These include:
- discounted movies, cultural events and concerts, up to 50%;
- doctor, dental and eye exams, 15 – 20%;
- no property tax on place of residence, up to 20 years;
- transportation discounts on trains, buses, boats and planes, 25% plus;
- discounts at certain restaurants, from 25%;
- utility bill discounts, 25%;
- hotel discounts, anywhere from 30% upwards.
These discounts are mandated in the Panamanian laws, and the requirements for receiving these discounts include showing your residency card and or your Pensioners Visa.
