Amphibians to be rescued in Panama

A whole list of interested and key stakeholders within the conservation field have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop an amphibian rescue and conservation project in Panama. The memorandum will serve to establish a framework for the communication and collaboration for the advancement of the Panama Amphibian Rescue and Conservation Project. The agreement has come about in an effort to address the goals of preventing the impending extinctions of certain amphibian species. Additional research and investigation will ensure as to the threat of disease that these endangered species have become exposed to.

Among the organizations that signed the memorandum of agreement were the Houston Zoo, Cheyenne Mountain Zoological Society Zoo, Zoo New England, Defenders of Wildlife dedicated to the protection of all native animals and plants in their natural communities, and the Smithsonian Institution to name a few.
