Resort

A resort is primarily a vacation or holiday venue, which is used to attract holidaymakers for recreation and relaxation activities. A resort is not limited to the hotel or establishment that is normally central to the resort, but can rather be a town, venue or similar area. There are a number of different types of resorts, some of which include a self contained theme, which offers the visitor every conceivable amenity available to them without having to leave the premises of the resort. Resorts can include a hotel, restaurants, casinos, lodging, and entertainment and so on.

There a number of resort towns throughout the world, these towns invariably come alive at a certain time and offer the visitor all sorts of activities and attractions. If one considers the internationally famous Disney World Resort, this is a prime example of a self contained commercial resort which offers a myriad of services and facilities for their visiting clientele. Other examples of resort towns and areas include the French and Italian Riviera; Newport – Rhode Island; and St. Moritz – Switzerland.

Coastal resorts have become increasingly popular across the world, especially in Central America and the Caribbean, which are conveniently close to the United States for the benefit of vacationers and the locals alike. Resorts are often used as convention and conference centers, which have fully equipped meeting rooms and theatres offering the business people the options of sufficient audio visual equipment in addressing their interested stakeholders.
