![]() El ValleEl Valle de Anton, as the official name describes, has been described as one of the most naturally beautiful places on earth, El Valle is a centrally located extinct volcano, less than a couple of hours out of Panama. The fertile valley soil provides the ideal setting for the lush terrain and amazing square trees and beautiful flowers. The lava dome complex of El Valle consists of Cerro Pajita, Cerro Gaital, and Cerro Caracoral peaks as part of the volcano. The region offers a vast range of activities for all types of tourists and residents. From exploring the natural forests, viewing the indigenous fauna and flora including the golden frogs, or viewing the forest canopies from above with canopy tours. The El Nispero zoo is a treat to view the local animals and birds, in a well kept natural type habitat. El macho is one of the spectacular regional waterfalls which are 70m high, where the canopy tours are readily available for the visitor, if the heights are too daunting then the trails through the cool dense forests are a treat for all nature lovers. The hot water springs, known as Pozos Termales, offer bathers a therapeutic mud bath or the thermal pools. From a historical point of view are the petroglyphs, which are stone writings on a large vertical rock face with unknown source or meaning. Those looking for curios and local artworks, will be pleasantly surprised by the market offerings every Sunday, with art and crafts of the native Indians, to wooden carvings and sculpture made by the locals. The climate in this region is practically perfect all year round, without the oppressive humidity of the coastal regions, as well as very centrally located, providing quick access from Panama, if it is just for a day away from the hustle and bustle of city life and environment.
