Clayton

Clayton, the former US Army base located by the Miraflores locks of the canal north of Balbao provides an up market venue of residential complexes and ideally located close to two of Panama’s top private schools, Balboa Academy and Las Esclavas. The residential area is surrounded by the Soberania National Park – which offers the bird lover ideal opportunities of viewing numerous bird species including toucans, flycatchers, woodpeckers and hawks, to name a few; there is also a large variety of indigenous animal life within the park.

Cuidad del Saber or City of Knowledge is located in Clayton designed on a 300 acre site to facilitate synergy between universities, businesses and international organizations, it is a government sponsored initiative which was created in 1995. Permanent members located here include UNICEF, McGill University, Iowa State, and the Red Cross and United Nations.

New developments within the area have made it to become somewhat sought, with the residential and commercial developments, as well as the site of the new US Embassy.
